Hyaluronic Acid

FAQ

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that forms a protective barrier against dehydration on the epidermis. It is injected under the skin to plump lips, define facial contours, and reduce wrinkles. It can also be used to strengthen skin or create volume where there is naturally less volume or due to age, such as in the lips. Hyaluronic acid is sometimes confused with Botox. The key difference is that Botox relaxes muscles locally, restricting movement. Hyaluronic acid fills an area and therefore does not affect the muscles.

You must be at least 18 years old to undergo a filler treatment.

Only doctors are authorized to administer injections. Any non-doctor performing cosmetic injections is engaging in the illegal practice of medicine. It is important to verify on the website of the French National Medical Council (https://www.conseil-national.medecin.fr) that the person performing the injections is registered with them.

Hyaluronic acid is a substance injected into the skin to create volume. The gel is injected into the desired area using a very fine cannula needle. We discuss all your wishes during your consultation to ensure you leave with high-quality results that you love. The doctors at IP Clinic will determine which filler is best suited to your desired treatment. Some hyaluronic acids have a thicker, more cross-linked structure and are primarily used to restore lost contours. A less cross-linked, slightly finer hyaluronic acid is better suited for wrinkles and fine lines. We take all of this into account and will advise you accordingly.

One of the advantages of hyaluronic acid is that the effects are not permanent. Dermal fillers are broken down by the body and can last between 6 and 12 months. The duration of the result therefore depends on the area treated, but also on the patient's metabolism, the quality of the injected product, and the patient's lifestyle.

Hyaluronic acid fillers are completely natural. These fillers break down naturally in the body after a few months, and because hyaluronic acid is produced by the body, the risk of allergy is low. It is essential that you choose a qualified practitioner to ensure safe and high-quality results.

Hyaluronic acid injections have an immediate effect. You may experience slight swelling after your treatment, and you might have minor bruising in the injected areas. This is perfectly normal, so there's no need to worry. We recommend waiting approximately two weeks for the area to heal completely.
